Skillshare, read off its own pricing page
$13.99 a month as an annual payment of $167.88 — the one figure on this site that reconciles exactly. What it took to find it, and what the trial actually commits you to.
Skillshare costs $13.99 a month, charged as an annual payment of $167.88, and it is the only price on this site that reconciles to the cent. The harder question is not what it costs but where that number is kept, because Skillshare's own membership page does not show it.
This is a reading of Skillshare's published pages and terms on 24 September 2026, in a US-configured browser. It is not a review of the classes, which would need a year inside the product, and it does not pretend to be one.
The price, and the six URLs it is not on
$13.99 a month with an "Annual payment of $167.88 USD" — annual only, with no monthly-billed option shown. $13.99 × 12 = $167.88 exactly, so unlike one of its rivals Skillshare's per-month figure really is the charge divided by twelve.
Getting to that figure took six tries. /en/membership redirects to a signup form with no price on it; /en/checkout, /en/subscribe, /en/gift-membership and the payment settings page all showed nothing. The price lives on /en/pricing, and that was the only public page of the six that printed one.
Skillshare's trial, and what taking it costs you
The trial is seven days, and it converts to a full year. Skillshare's own pricing FAQ says so without hedging: "After your trial ends, your annual Skillshare membership begins. You'll be billed for the year in full."
Now read that beside the refund terms, which say Skillshare "has no obligation to consider or grant refund requests, including… for subscription plans purchased with a 7-day or longer free trial". Taking the free week is the friendliest-looking door here and it is the one that closes the refund route behind you.
None of that is hidden — it is in the published terms, in plain English, which is more than some sellers manage. It is simply the opposite of what a "free trial" implies, so it is worth knowing before you click.
That link is a paid one: if you subscribe after following it, this site may be paid for the introduction, and the seller charges you the same either way. It buys no placement here — the free routes on this page pay us nothing and are still recommended. Read the panel yourself before you agree to anything; prices move and ours were read on one day.
What its terms say about sales
Skillshare's terms describe the promotional-pricing mechanic more frankly than most sellers would. Two sentences are worth quoting because they answer the question people actually have about creative-course discounts.
Promotional or sale prices will typically be limited to a specified period of time (for example, one year for discounts on annual subscriptions). At the end of that period of time, your subscription will automatically renew at the then-applicable full price.
And, separately: "The subscription price we offer may be different when you are logged into your account compared to the price available to users who aren't registered or logged in." So a discounted first year is a first year, and the price you are shown depends on who the site thinks you are. Both of those are stated by Skillshare, not inferred by us.
Skillshare publishes no renewal figure. Neither does MasterClass. The comparison of what that silence costs is on the MasterClass page.
The two numbers on its own site that do not match
Skillshare's home page and its pricing page describe the size of Skillshare differently, on the same day. The home page's counters read "425k+ MEMBERS"; the pricing page opens "Join the 11 million+ creative people who have found inspiration… on Skillshare".
Its other published counts — "30k+ CLASSES", "9k+ TEACHERS" — are consistent between the two pages. We quote them as Skillshare's claims and have audited none of them.
Who Skillshare actually suits
Someone who learns by making something rather than by watching someone explain. Skillshare's pitch is short classes with a project attached and a community to post it to, which is a different product from a lecture series even when the price is nearly identical.
Questions people actually ask
How much does Skillshare cost?
$13.99 a month, charged as an annual payment of $167.88, read off skillshare.com/en/pricing on 24 September 2026. No monthly-billed option appeared on that page, and the price is not shown on the membership or signup pages at all.
Is the Skillshare free trial really free?
The seven days cost nothing, and then the full year is charged automatically. Skillshare's refund terms also say it has no obligation to grant a refund on a plan bought with a trial of seven days or longer, so the trial is a trial and not a money-back window.
What does Skillshare renew at?
It does not publish a figure. Its terms say a promotional price typically lasts a set period and then "will automatically renew at the then-applicable full price", which tells you the mechanism without telling you the number.
Skillshare or Domestika?
Skillshare is a subscription only; Domestika sells individual courses you keep as well as a subscription, and publishes a renewal price of $329. The head-to-head, with both panels read the same day, is in Skillshare vs Domestika.
Do Skillshare certificates mean anything?
Skillshare advertises "Certificates and Badges" to mark completion. A certificate of completion is not a certification and not an accreditation, and this site makes no claim about what any employer does with one.
Before you agree to a year
Open the seller’s own panel, switch the yearly and monthly tabs, and find the line that says what happens twelve months from now. If you cannot find one, that is the answer.
